Crankshaft Balancing

If it rotates, it needs balancing. We have balanced many large crankshafts, as well as small crankshafts. When the performance of the engine is important, the crankshaft must be balanced.

Depending upon the type of engine, various methods are employed to bring the rotational forces into compliance. Changes can be made to the counterweight, as well as the web of the throws.

Before a long crankshaft can be effectively balanced, the location of the mains that best support the crank in a straight line must be determined. DREYCO MECHANICAL SERVICES INC. uses our laser system to evaluate the position of all of the journals.
